Born and Raised in Houston Texas, Josh Green is a Drummer, Composer & Educator based in New York City. He attended the prestigious High School for the Performing & Visual Arts whose alumni include Jason Moran, Chris Dave and Robert Glasper just to name a few. During his tenure he participated in the YoungArts Program as a Finalist, the All Region and All State Jazz Bands, and the Herbie Hancock Peer to Peer Jazz Tour. He moved to New York City in 2018 to attend the Manhattan School of Music and has studied with and been mentored by musicians such as Kendrick Scott, Obed Calvaire, Buster Williams, Marc Cary and Damien Sneed.
Some of his recent artistic endeavors include performing the music of Duke Ellington alongside Damien Sneed & Candice Hoyes at the Caramoor Jazz Festival, leading masterclasses with Imani Rouselle in Muri, Switzerland, playing with Jazzmeia Horn at the Chicken Bone Jazz Festival with her Quartet, occupying the drum chair in the regional production of Once on this Island directed by George Faizon, performing alongside Cynthia Erivo & the Alvin Ailey Dance Company at their Opening Night Gala, as well as working as a sideman in New York City at venues such as The Blue Note, The Django and Jazz at Lincoln Center.
